Today, the three-day training on women's property rights in inheritance was completed, with participants from the municipalities of Vushtrri, Mitrovica, and Shtime. The topic of discussion was the Legal Framework for women's property rights, followed by gender equality in property matters, highlighting the fact that women have the right to their share of property. The discussion also covered how a group of women can advance a process by advocating for that issue, as was specifically the case with property matters. Mechanisms that help resolve property disputes were also discussed. Women were also informed that within each municipality there is an Agency for Legal Aid that enables them to benefit from free legal aid by assisting in providing information, legal advice, drafting petitions, lawsuits, complaints, representation before courts and other bodies
This activity was carried out within the framework of the project "Empowering women, men, and youth living in rural areas facing economic challenges to create sustainable livelihoods through agricultural activities and food processing," funded by the Swiss donor FRIEDA.
