The purpose of the visit was to get closely acquainted with the German dual education model, which combines theoretical learning with practical training on farms and specialized laboratories, as well as to identify successful practices that can be applied in the livestock and food processing sector in Kosovo. During the visit, meetings were held with educational and research institutions, model farms and dairy processing units were visited.
Among the most advanced practices presented were: robotic milking systems with integrated technology for monitoring cow health, equipment for immediate milk cooling through heat exchange, systems for efficient management and feeding of calves and cows, as well as a comprehensive approach to animal welfare. The importance of renewable energies on agricultural farms was also emphasized, through solar panels, biogas, and sustainably managed wood heating.
This visit served as a valuable experience for expanding the professional knowledge of the staff of IADK and strengthening opportunities for inter-institutional cooperation in the fields of vocational education, practical training, and rural development.
