During this visit, they were first introduced by the Executive Director Mr. Zenel Bunjaku to the work and activities carried out by IADK in support of farmers with grants and professional development, as well as internship programs for students in the agriculture and food technology fields.
The visit focused on the practical demonstration of pruning various trees in the demonstration plot of IADK. Under the guidance of experts from IADK and Associate Professor Vahid Avdiu, the students were engaged in the practical process of pruning different types of trees (apple, pear, plum, cherry, raspberry, and blueberry).
They were also introduced to some of the practices of cultivating strawberries in the demonstration strawberry orchard, as well as the advanced model of the demonstration greenhouse, including digital control systems for greenhouse ventilation, and the automatic plant irrigation system controlled via sensors, which are adapted depending on the plants' soil moisture requirements.
Such activities are examples of efforts to empower students in practice and to increase cooperation between academic institutions and professional organizations.
