To give project beneficiaries the opportunity to closely observe the experiences of successful farmers in the same sectors where they are engaged, IADK organized study visits to Kosovo, with the first visit held in Leposavić in the village of Kamenicë, modeled on greenhouses used for vegetable cultivation.
Participants had the opportunity to see planted seedlings of pepper, tomato, and cornichon and for each planted crop. The expert from IADK presented their condition, bonding methods, fertilizer treatment, and ventilation inside the greenhouse. Within this sector, a visit was also made to the Municipality of Skenderaj, in the village of Tërnavc, to the beneficiary of IADK, Jonuz Syla, where farmers had the chance to exchange experiences in vegetable cultivation (peppers, tomatoes, cornchon), their treatment, greenhouse maintenance, irrigation methods, as well as the use of several equipment in preparing modules for cultivating seedlings in an advanced system.
Meanwhile, for the beekeeping sector, the beneficiary Safet Peci had the opportunity for the first time to see the method of preparing the syrup in a duplicator, where the expert from IADK explained this process in detail. The next visit was to Skender Shala in the municipality of Malishevë, who owns 480 beehives; he explained the importance of feeding bees. Meanwhile, in the village of Vraniq in Suhareka, the method of preparing bee feed was observed as a very important process for the beneficiary, who in the future can invest in this aspect.
The activity is part of the project "Supporting Social Entrepreneurship and Promoting Socio-Economic Empowerment in Minority Communities in Kosovo," a project supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), supported by the DRC and implementers [NT15]].
