IADK organized an important discussion panel on the role of girls and women in decision-making regarding property rights and their impact on economic development and gender equality.
The meeting was moderated by the Executive Director of IADK, Zenel Bunjaku, who thanked the panelists and participants for their outstanding contribution to this essential discussion for the future of our communities.
The panel brought together experts in the field, including: Odeta Naks – Advocacy Training and Resource Center, Lavdi Zymberi – Kosovo Center for Gender Studies, Qendrim Gashi – Agency for Free Legal Aid, Gzim Shala – Center for Legal Aid – IKD, and Edon Uka – Legal Expert
The discussion also included Antigona Dajakaj Fejza, Coordinator of the FRIEDA Project, women and girls participating in the FRIEDA project, municipal officials, NGO representatives, and the project implementation team from IADK.
Among other things, the panel emphasized:
The challenges women face in realizing their property rights, the importance of gender equality legislation, the impact of patriarchal norms on access to property, inheritance issues, and opportunities for change.
The active participation of women and girls in decision-making is essential for economic development, social justice, and sustainable communities.
This panel reaffirmed the need for empowerment, awareness, and equal enforcement of laws – as concrete steps toward a fairer and more inclusive society.
This activity was organized within the framework of the project "Empowering women, men, and youth living in rural areas facing economic challenges to create sustainable livelihoods through agricultural activities and food processing," funded by the Swiss donor FRIEDA.
