The organization "Initiative for Development of Agriculture of Kosovo" (IADK]), is implementing the project "Empowering Youth and Women from Rural Areas through inclusion in agriculture and food processing" three-year project (2021-2023), supported by the Swiss donor CFD. The project will include municipalities: Vushtrri, Mitrovica, Shime and Lipjan, which are partners in the project.
The project aims at three main support components, such as: Capacity building through Education and Training Professional, grant support for creating conditions for generating income and self-employment and Promoting the inclusion of youth, women, and men from rural areas in agriculture.
Supporting Youth with trainings and grants: Within the framework of The project activities plan to form two groups of 15 each. participants from the two municipalities involved in the project, for whom initially to organize five-(5)-day trainings for capacity building on the topics for the preparation of the business plan, farm management, and techniques of production. After completing the training, these young people will be invited to apply to the grant scheme with support packages in the subsectors of agriculture (livestock, beekeeping, vegetable growing, fruit growing, etc.) in the amount of 2,500.00 €.
Supporting women with professional training and grants in the processing sector: Within the project activities, the formation of two groups with 12 participants each from the two municipalities involved in the project, for which 20 days of professional training will be organized in the processing sector (fruits and vegetables or milk) accredited by the National Authority of Qualifications (AKK). After completing the training, women will be provided with certificates issued by IADK and verified by the AKK. After certification, two The most successful candidates from the two municipalities will be supported with equipment for processing valued at €7,000.00.
Therefore, young people and women are invited to apply for continuing the trainings and in the processing sector, who, after completing their training, will apply for the above-mentioned grant scheme.
Criteria that YOUNG people need to complete for training are:
a) Be between 18 and 35 years old;
b) To be from the rural areas of the Vushtrri municipalities and Lipjan;
c) To be unemployed and active in activities agricultural;
d) To have resources to engage in agriculture (land, water, labor force);
e) To have the potential for capacity expansion agricultural;
f) To be interested in starting a business or to become self-employed.
Criteria that WOMEN need to be filled for training are:
a) Be between 18 and 55 years old;
b) To be from the rural areas of the Vushtrri municipalities and Lipjan;
c) To be unemployed and active in processing food;
d) Have the potential to expand the capacities of processing;
e) To be interested in starting a business or self-employment;
f) Female heads of households will have priority for selection.
