Repatriated farmers are introduced to good cultivation and managerial practices through an exchange visit.

The organization IADK continues to build the professional capacities of farmers, with the main objective of employment and income generation. With the support of IADK, four (4) repatriated farmers from the Municipality of Rahovec participated in an exchange visit to the municipality of Suhareka, during which two key sectors for the participating farmers, viticulture and fruit growing, were visited.

The purpose of the visit was to learn about new practices and improve existing ones for the growth and care of vineyards and orchards, the rational use of pesticides, plant protection, and the application of a modern cultivation mechanism.

Additionally, the farmers had the opportunity to visit a very successful private business engaged in cultivating cherries, strawberries, grapes, and peaches. The plantation manager informed the farmers about the most productive tree species and the use of nets to protect them from hail. The management of human and natural resources was a debated and important topic for achieving success in agriculture.

This activity was made possible within the framework of the project "Economic Inclusion of Repatriates through Agriculture in Rural Areas and Capacity Building through Vocational Training," funded by Deutsche Geselchaft für internationale Zsammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, mandated by the Federal Republic of Germany.
