The project "Promotion of rural tourism services and infrastructure in the region of Shala" is a project financed by the EU, implemented by Initiative for Agriculture Development of Kosovo (IADK) and managed by the European Union Office in Kosovo.

The general objective of this project is creation of conditions for rural tourism and development of family businesses in the region of Shala. As specific objectives are: development of hiking trails in high mountainous areas, creation of start-up businesses dealing with tourism and support of existing ones,  economic empowerment of household economies, increase in quantity and quality of traditional food production, advancement of touristic services in rural areas, promotion of alternative energy production and use it.IADK requires qualified candidates for 2 positions:
Title of the position:                Project Manager  
Working place:                      Mitrovica
Duration:                               21 months from contract signature

 Job description:
Project manager will be responsible for implementing the project objectives and coordination of works on daily basis.
Duties and responsibilities

  •          Manages and coordinates activities with project staff
  •          Ensures good communication between the staff and the Executive Director
  •          Actively participates in monitoring of all the project activities
  •          Identifies potential experts which will be engaged in the project
  •          Presents the project to stakeholders
  •          Ensures project visibility
  •          Manages communication with media, donors and all interested parties
  •          Manages operations and communication with the EU Office in Kosovo
  •          Prepares and finalizes all IADK reports, on regular basis
  •          Preparation of materials for publication, leaflets/brochures
  •          Follows the payments and manages the budget
  •          Coordinates and participates  in regular meetings with interested parties in the IADK office in Mitrovica
  •          Is efficient in implementation of all abovementioned activities in relation to the project
  •          Accomplishes other tasks as required by IADK Executive Director

Main qualifications and competences:

  •         University Diploma (Agriculture science, Economics, Agro-economics and Tourism)
  •          Experience in implementation of EU funded projects
  •          Working experience in rural tourism preferred
  •          Working experience in communication with media and public
  •          Administrative experience and knowledge in managing human resources, knowledge in legislation
  •          Experience in monitoring  reporting 
  •          Skills in research, analysis, and preparation of different documents
  •          Communication and cooperation skills
  •          Strong organization and self-motivating skills
  •          Skills for working in multiethnic environments
  •          Time pressure working skills  and to be ready to work with all communities in Kosovo
  •          Computer skills: Windows, Excel and Power Point Arch cad  and in web page management
  •          To speak and write in the three languages: Albanian, English and Serbian
  •          To possess driving license

Title of the position:                   Engineer
Working place:                         Mitrovica
Duration:                                 16 months from contract signature

 Job description:
The engineer will be responsible to the Executive Director and the Project Manager. He/she will coordinate work with interested parties.
Duties and responsibilities

  • Preparation of the plan for implementation of hiking trails
  • Preparation of the plan for traditional hosting rooms
  • Preparation of the plan for implementation of water sources and water mills
  • Identification of problems in construction of paths, hosting rooms, water sources and mills
  • Presentation of the project to stakeholders and close collaboration with Municipalities in which the project will be implemented
  • Distribution of goods
  • Report on each activity
  • Monitoring of operations
  • Prepares and updates visibility materials
  • Coordination of work in relation to the project
  • Follows-up and prepares all expert missions on different needs for expertise depending on project need
  • Supports procurement in design of plan and criteria for selection of companies to be contracted for the project
  • To be efficient in implementation of all the above mentioned activities in relation to the project
  • Accomplishes other tasks as required by IADK Executive Director
  • Assists and participates in regular meetings at the IADK central office in Mitrovica

Main qualifications and competences:

  • University diploma  (Architecture, Construction Engineering)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in communication with media and public
  • Computer skills: Windows, Excel and Power Point and in web page management
  • Experience in administration and knowledge in human resource management and legislation 
  • Similar work experience in implementation of construction and architecture projects, for at least 3 years
  • To have good speaking and writing skills in the three languages: Albanian, English and Serbian
  • Time pressure working skills
  • To possess driving license
